A Peace Pole is a hand-crafted monument that displays the message and prayer “May Peace Prevail on Earth” on each of its four or six sides, usually in different languages. Thousands of Peace Poles in 180 countries all over the world are dedicated as monuments to peace. They serve as constant reminders for us to visualize and pray for world peace. Peace Poles inscribed with the message, “May Peace Prevail on Earth”, is a trademark icon of The Peace Pole Project.
The collaboration in creating a garden at your place of business, community center, park, church, school, private home or apartment allows for community members to choose four to eight languages representative of those spoken in your own community. You can “plant” your Peace Pole in a variety of ways -- from simple placement within a common area or flower bed to building a labyrinth or sitting area for contemplation, meditation and conversations.
Brenda Gustin and Joan Marie lead a participatory art process for groups wishing to create a unique representation of their vision of peace as shown in the photos. For more information: https://www.facebook.com/PeacePoleGardensProject
Major Renee Marie and Maria Maldonado lead the placement of pre-made all-weather plastic Peace Poles in schools with customized language choices. For more information: https://www.facebook.com/PeacePolesForSchools
